Since 2009, The Southern Tier Storm field hockey club has been committed to providing area athletes with positive travel field hockey opportunities.
After humble beginnings with 2 coaches, 20 members and 1 location, we have grown to a staff of 7 volunteer coaches, over 100 player members at 3 different locations. Not only has our program grown but our athletes’ accomplishments include; winning medals at the Disney Showcase, winning gold medals at Shooting Stars, winning medals at the Limelight Showcase just to name a few (check out our background picture on The Southern Tier Storm Face Book page to see more). Our athletes have had positive, worthwhile experiences that have led to successful college Field Hockey careers. Many of our post-collegiate athletes are still involved in coaching, recruiting or officiating. Our staff, athletes and facilities being in a convenient, localized area is an important factor in our small club feel that leads to amazing relationship-building and team bonding successes.
The Southern Tier Storm’s club mission is in line with the USAFH philosophy “Grow the Game.” We offer all field hockey players the chance to practice, travel, compete and expand their knowledge of the game. We provide a variety of methodologies for training our athletes based on our staff’s expertise, certifications and experiences. We focus on the betterment of our athletes at any level of play.
